Ohio Wrongful Death Attorneys Are on Your Side Every Step of the Way
Successfully handling wrongful death cases since 1976
At The Eisen Law Firm, we have successfully handled all types of wrongful death cases over the past 30 years. We proudly have obtained seven and even eight figure awards for our clients through settlements and jury verdicts.
A wrongful death case is brought when someone dies as the result of the carelessness (or negligence) of someone else. The negligence may be “professional” negligence, meaning negligence in the performance of professional duties. Some examples are medical negligence, surgical negligence, nursing negligence, hospital negligence, and pharmacy negligence. But wrongful death actions also can be brought for “non-professional” negligence, such as ordinary negligence involved in auto accidents (including truck and motorcycle accidents), boating accidents, skiing accidents, or other activities.
A Settlement in excess of $15.3 million was awarded, when a widow hired Attorney Brian Eisen who worked relentlessly when Danny died a wrongful death as a result of negligence. When someone dies due to the negligence of someone else, two claims may be brought. One is the negligence claim. That claim is for damages to the injured person: lost wages, medical bills, pain and suffering, etc., from the time of the injury to the time of the person’s death. Once the person dies, that claim “survives” and can be brought by a representative of the person’s estate.
A wrongful death claim also may be brought by a representative of the person’s estate. Wrongful death claims compensate those family members who have suffered damages due to the death. The damages include things like loss of companionship, love, guidance, support, and prospective inheritance, and the mental anguish suffered by surviving spouses, children, and other family members.
At The Eisen Law Firm, we have the experience and compassion necessary to assist you in any case involving wrongful death. We pride ourselves on working closely with family members to understand the full depth of loss felt by those left behind when someone dies from negligence. This allows us to convey that information to insurance adjusters and jurors so that they, too, can truly appreciate the loss.
